Duc Le aka ducK

Hello! my name is Duc Le but most people call me Duck! I grew up in West Covina and started to dance at the age of 15. I started competing in the Bay Area and choreographed for Move Studio in 2005. My friends and I started a team called Elements and competed at Global Hip Hop and placed 3rd. Now I currently attend Cal State Fullerton, and dance whenever I have the chance.

(Freestyle In Parking Lot - Messing Around =D)

My first crew I was dedicated to most is Jabbawockeez. Everything about them from from the style to the energy they bring, makes them one of the most respected crew out there. I am a 100% supporter of "Byters Will Be Eaten" movement because I believe that everyone should have there own style and should be proud of it. There is no need to try to copy other people's style.

(The Other Duck Performane)

Kaba Modern was the second phase of my life. I enjoyed everyone on the team and how they welcomed the freshmens. They expanded the length of my skills and pushed me to become a better dancer. Sadly, I got in a car accident in 2005 which put my dancing career to a pause for a year and a half due to a shattered ankle. I recently started dancing again but with my ankle, it is hard to keep up.

(Old Performance)

Team Millenia is also one of the most respected team out there. They ALWAYS bring there all which makes them one of the most feared team out there. Everyone's energy shines brighter then the sun when they perform on stage. Team Millenia is going to be the next phase in my life. I will be auditioning for Team Millenia in August 2008, if anyone wants to come watch, please feel free to enjoy a day at Team Millenia Dance Studio on Chapman and Willshire.

Kaba Modern

"Often imitated, Never Duplicated"

Kaba Modern is a street dance group established in 1992 by a group of Kababayans at UCI. They performed as "The Modern Suite" at their Philipino Culture Night. Since then, the group became Kaba Modern. There individual dedication to dance and to each other created a light that shine on and off stage.

Kaba Modern now performs at Philipino Culture Night still but also competes around California, and out of state. They were on America's Best Dance Crew making them known world wide.

Kaba Modern's energy is always shining and visable when they perform which inspired me to give it my all no matter what.

Jabbawockees

"Byters Will Be Eaten!!!!!"

"Beware of the Jabbawockeez my friends... the B-Boys that rip, the Freestylers that rock, Friend or Foe, nobody knows these anomalies of hip hop. Beware of the beats that make them their mesmerizing, mysterious groove, boom boom kat boom boom.. boom kat, and just like that... vanished..."

The Jabbawockeez crew was established in 2003. With the same goal of showcasing their freestyle, a group of friends created the Jabbawockeez crew. The hip hop scene was flooded with "dance troupes" that seemed to "clone dancers" and thus, the Byters Will Be Eaten movement began, and the dance crew who would become a legend began.

Jabbawockeez made appearances at local showcases and club events in San Diego and Los Angeles with the support of Poppin Pete, Mr Wiggles, and Crazy Legs, they gained recognition world wide.

The Jabbawockeez was my reason to start dancing. i started to dance and compete after i learned that an old friend of mine who used to dance with me joined the Jabbawockeez and invited me to a few shows. I met a few dancers including Gary Kendell (R.I.P.) and Ben Chung. Since then, I have been competing around the bay area, and choreograph for Move Studio until 2005 when I got into my car accident.

Team Millennia (TM) is a hip-hop dance organization that was founded by Director Danny V. Batimana in 1998. Before the name changed to Team Millennia, the organization was known as Culture Entertainment. With Culture Entertainment, they competed at competitions and won the Vibe Dance Competition many consecutive years. Besides their usual competitions, they also performed at their annual Filipino Cultural Night in California. Along with Team Millennia, TM members work extremely hard to compete and travel to different events. Members do not get paid to dance with TM, but some may receive and accept payment from booked gigs for choreographing or performing. Besides performing and competing all along the California coast, TM competes at the Boogies Wars Dance Competition in Las Vegas, Nevada each year.

TM’s Dance Center (TMDC) is only used for rehearsals and is available to groups who wish to rent out the space. Auditions, workshops, and Summer Intensive Dance Camps (SI) are also held at the TMDC, which are all run and conducted by the members themselves. SI helps prepare dancers as to what to expect for the upcoming TM year and focuses on the different techniques and disciplines to aid in the improvement of their dancing.

The dancing addict that I am, I realized this is nothing but a great opportunity for me to perform greater moves as well as to gaining a better knowledge on the different styles Team Millienia is looking for in each individual. This is a chance that I an many people can take advantage of to become a great dancer and be apart of a unique and outgoing dance team. I also believe that this Summer Intensive opportunity will help dancers build their self-esteem and confidence in dancing. I am taking my chances so: Here's your chance! Come Join!
